Rhode Island faces a more than a $450 million state budget deficit.  The impact of the deficit is felt deeply in our neighborhoods.   Workers are laid off, working families are without needed child-care supports, school programs are on the chopping block, community grants that support victims of domestic violence and Meals on Wheels have been cut, and more. 

The good news is, there are long-term solutions to the state deficit that are responsible, equitable and that put our democratic values of economic justice and opportunity for all first.
